I can't believe its been over a month since my last post... doesn't time just fly by? So i'll try to give you an update in a nutshell! We went to Disney Oct 9-16... It was soo much fun!

Anyway... as I was trying to say.... Disney was so much fun! I enjoyed Epcot the most cuase I could ride everything there :D. I'm not much of a roller coaster person... ok, i'm a non roller coaster type of person... but everything at Epcot I could ride! Animal Kingdom was fun too! The Safari ride was great! Wednesday of the week we were there, my back started hurting. We all still went to the park, but after about 3 hours, I couldn't stand it anymore. I could hardly go from sitting to standing or visa versa. And walking was just as painful. So Josh and I went back to the condo and i got some ice and Aleve and went to bed. Josh went and picked up Brad and Cheryl later on. Of course on Thursday I was in no way ready to go anywhere, so Josh and I just stayed at the condo and Brad and Cheryl went with out us.







Now I have a cat laying on my hand as I type... so sorry if there are any typos :)...

My back finally got better about a week later. It was good to see Josh's grandma on the way down and back up. She lives in GA.


Sine we have been back nothing too exciting has gone on. I've been in goldsboro since the 29th of Oct and I'll be going back on the 12th or 13th.

My parents still have 3 of the kittens... which are now more like teenage cats! And they are all sitting around or on me right at this moment... the mom is up on the back of the chair with Maddie. Chloe is to my left on the arm of the chair and Toby is literally stretched out across my wrist making it a little difficult to type. Hes going to be going to the vet in the morning. We think he's got something. He hasn't been growing much and is starting to look too skinny. His eyes also look funny. If any of you hear about someone that would like 2 kittens, let me know!

Over the past month....

Wow, its been an entire month since i've updated my blog. I've been updating my mom's blog, but have sadly neglected mine. So here's for a month's worth of update...


I've been back in forth from Goldsboro and Greenville several times. Mama and I have had so much fun staying up late and just having alot of girl time. There were several nights that i'm falling asleep on the couch and mama is wide awake. Who knows where this energy came from. Now I'm not talking its only 11 PM and i'm falling asleep. I had very good reason to be falling asleep at 2 AM. :D. We watched all of season 1 of 7th Heaven, and are only 4 episodes of completing season 2! Too bad that was the only seasons I have. Maybe I'll find seasons 3 on a good sale somewhere! and then seasons 4-11 :D. Yeah, I didn't realize there were that many seasons! My Aunt Judy came over a couple nights to spend the night and we had really fun girl nights!

While I've been back to my house I've been trying to decorate for fall... but its not as easy as one would think for a condo. There's not really room outside to decorate much and just as little room inside to do much. I went shopping with my friend Caroline on saturday. It was so good to see her. I hadn't seen her since May. She had gone to work at a camp for the summer, and since she's been back I've either been out of town, or our schedules just didn't work out! My hubby has been such a good hubby! Everytime I've come back home, he's had the house clean for me so I didn't have to worry about that!

Now, I have to get us packed and ready for our trip to DISNEY!!!!WOOT!!! I'm so excited to be going. I haven't been since I was 6 yrs old! Brad and Cheryl are coming to our house thursday and then all 4 of us will leave Friday morning bright and early to head to Florida! I will post pics when we get back!

Time now to get ready for the day and go meet the hubby for a lunch date!

My time in NC

I've been back in NC for about a week and 1/2. Went with mama to her treatment on Monday, but other than that we kept it pretty low key! Today however we were so busy! We went to church this morning, followed by "kidnapping" mama to take her to Cracker Barrel for lunch! She love it! We didn't want to tell her where we were going so she would have to worry about being away from home or worry about being too tired. I should have know the "being too tired" wouldn't have factored in. :D Once we got back into G-boro we went to Sam's so mama could talk to some of her buddies there! She really misses working there. We had about an hour back home before we were off to church again! Then we went to Cook-Out after church. It was super good and super good prices! For 4.25 you can get one main "entree", 2 sides (things like fries, hushpuppies, 1 chicken wrap, chili, onion rings, 1 chicken quesadilla, and more), and a drink. For a dollar more you can sub the drink for a wonderfully awesome spectacular milk shake.... oh was it good :D. I'm a sucker for cheesecake... but put it in a milkshake and add strawberries and you've hit a major weak spot! Needless to say, we have enough food for a meal tomorrow. I got Chicken tenders... which were more like chicken patties they were so big! I don't know if they were just having a really good night with food, but we had nooo complaints!

Update on the Kittens :D They are sooo adorable. They have been playing alot and climbing and whatever else kittens do! We still need a home for 2 of the kittens. Not quite sure which two yet, but pretty sure its the solid gray and the more stripy gray one. Brad and Cheryl are going to take the calico and one of the blonde ones. And my parents are probably going to keep the other blonde one... but they aren't sure yet! I'll post pics later.


I miss my hubby... but I know I need to be here with my mom right now. BUT i still miss me hubby... :(. I'll prolly be going back home a week from tuesday. Home and Kittens

I've bee home for about a week now, and still have another week to be here! Mama is doing pretty good. We've been enjoying our time together. My parents have adopted... or rather were adopted by a cute little kitty cat. She had 6 kittens about a week ago. One didn't make it, but the other 5 are so adorable! There's 2 gray, 2 blonde, and one black with some splashes of other colors. A couple of them have their eyes wide open today. The rest are either still closed, or just peeping out a little bit! We have been holding them some to get them used to human contact. There's 2 whiners :D. As soon as you pick them up they start cryin' for their mama, and she comes to them! She has been so good to them, but she doesn't get overly protective when we do pick them up. Brad and Cheryl are going to take one, maybe two of them. And I think i've talked my parents into keeping one of them. So we'll have to find a home for the other 2. Hopefully someone we know!

Glory is life's trials

Please pray for my mommy. She's having a lot of tests done to see what is wrong with her (physically, not mentally :P ). She had some done already, and is going in tomorrow for some of those results and also doing some prep work stuff for a colonoscopy that will be on thursday. Sometimes the hardest part is the tests and the waiting for the results.

Sunday we had two awesome services at church. Our pastor is out of town (that's not why they were awesome!) and we had the youth pastor fill in for the AM service and one of our missionaries fill in for the PM service. Matt (our youth pastor) spoke on the 3 things you will always see when revival happens in your life. 1.) you will see God for who He really is 2.) You will see the reality and weight of your own sin in your life 3.) you will see God as a gracious, merciful, and forgiving God. But he also was talking about in one of the side notes that everything we do and everything we go through we can find a way to glorify God. God doesn't put things in our lives to harm us. We may not always see it that way as humans. Our small finite minds can't always understand why something we deem as "bad" in our lives can bring God glory. All we have to realize is that God is going to bring himself glory through it, and we will understand once we get to Heaven.

So what has God put in your life that you think is bad? Can you find a way that it will glorify God? How can my mom's health problems glorify God? We may not know how God is getting glory from this till we get to Heaven. But that's ok, we can keep praising God and thanking Him for all the things He provides us each and every day!

Picnic

Josh and I FINALLY went on our first picnic together. I'd been trying to get him to go on one with me for a while, but he kept making reasons (excuses) why we couldn't go. We're trying to stay on a strict budget right now because we're saving for our Disney trip in October (insert a big WOOHOO here)! I finally convinced him that it is cheaper to go on a date to the park and have a picnic than to go to a restaurant and whatever else we decide to do. Even if it is just out to eat, it's hard to get out of a place for less than $20 unless its fast food. Plus there is waiting time for the food, and then you have to leave a tip. So Josh and I went last night to Falls Park on Reedy River in downtown greenville. It was so fun! It was the perfect weather, no bugs, and didn't cost us money! We had turkey sandwiches, with baked cheetos, applesauce, and pudding for dessert! We even saw this guy propose to his girlfriend! I felt like I was intruding on their special moment, even though we were there first!

Today we went to Flat Rock grill for lunch. We were taking Rachel (Josh's sister) out for her birthday which was last monday! I got the loaded grilled chicken and they both got the stuffed grouper. Then we all got our own desserts(which we had to bring some home). We got all that food for $23. How you ask???? Restaurant.com has gift certificates for a select restaurants in your town that you can buy. You pay a little price for a nice certificate! So if you have a special occasion coming up, or you just want to go out to eat, but don't want to pay the restaurant prices... check out the website!

We did have fun today! Now we are back at our house just relaxing! Stuffed to the max and we all want a nap! We're going to their mom's house tonight for dinner.... i don't think i can eat another bite for the rest of the day, but we'll see.

Mother is gaining wisdom

They say with age comes wisdom right? My Mom is getting wiser this week :D. We had a little family party for her last night (saturday night). We weren't too mean to her either... last night! We went over to my brother's house and cooked out. Hamburgers and hotdogs! We then watched Mall Cop. After the movie we brought out the cake with one special "over the hill" candle and 12 colorful flame candle. They were pretty cool looking. Since her birthday isn't till thursday, she doesn't get her presents till then. I'll post those pictures later! She did get one present though. It was a new light fixture for the kitchen! SCSUX

The title of this blog was what someone that we know that lives in SC wanted to put on their license plate. But the license plate people wouldn't let them. But I wanted to get that for them, and have ours as SCSUX2. Ok, this is why I wanted that plate. We have finally gotten everything switched over to SC stuff. The registration for the car was the last thing we needed and it was a PAIN IN THE BACKSIDE OF THE LAP. They need a tape recorder for the phrase "I'm sorry, but you will also need..." because they say that so many times. Getting my license was a pain too. I had to go 3 times before they accepted all the paperwork. I wanted to ask them if they would like a blood sample too cause they got everything else. But anywho, it was all in all an unexciting adventure. Not something I want to go through much!

Accountability

I'm so frustrated with the way I am right now. Ever had that feeling? That saying that women are known for "I have nothing to wear" as they look in their closet full of clothes, is something I've been saying a lot recently. But that is going to change. My friend Caroline is going the a camp to work for 2 months. I told her when she got back I would be 20lbs lighter :D. I've got a lot of work ahead of me. I joined a gym about 3 weeks ago. I get up with Joshua every morning and take him to work and then head straight to the gym. Oh how I would love to just sleep in, but some things are more important! They say its better to workout in the morning.... go on and get your body movin'. We eat pretty good at the house. You wont find chips, cookies, or really any type of junk food in our house. That's worked for Joshua... he's lost 30 lbs since we've been married. But I'm going to have to do more to beat this. I like some veggies, but they are prolly not the first thing I would go for. I do enjoy eating some fruits. So if you got any really healthy recipes let me know! Eating salads every day is just not on the top of my enjoyment list. But if that's what it takes, i'll do it. My other goal is set for October. We're going to florida with Brad and Cheryl. Thats about 5 months from now. If I can do 20 lbs in 2 months, I can do 30 more lbs for October. But I don't want to look at that goal, I want to just look at the 10lbs a month, or even 2-3 lbs a week. Thats not a lot if I look at it that way! Feel free to ask me how I'm doing. I'll be accountable to all who read this! Its hard to do things alone, so thats why I want to be accountable to many people! WOOHOO!

Gilmore Girls season 8????

I saw an advertisement on the ABC Family channel this morning that said there was going to be a new season of Gilmore Girls. Needless to say, I was thrilled!!! But I looked on google to find more info about this, and there's nothing really out there. I'm so confused now. The actually abcfamily.com site has a clip on the gilmore girls page. It says the new season starts June 8th at 5:00. I hope it's true. Let me know if anyone else has heard about a new season!

Hairstyling

I love having my hair played with. When I worked at the daycare, it was fun when my kids wanted to "style" my hair. I just had to make sure I didn't need to go anywhere after work that day. I've been able to get Joshua to play with my hair a couple times no. I am confident that hairstyling is not his forte, but he tries! I feel sorry if we have a little girl one day and he has to do her hair. Poor little girl :D. Tonight he put three sections of my hair in ponytail holders, and then proceeded to "braid" them together. Then he put two pigtails on the sides of my head. Lets just say I was stylin' and profilin'! Then it was time to take out the ponytail holders. All of them came out easily except for one. It was stuck in there pretty good. It was a big knot in my hair! He got tired of playing with my hair after that! I don't blame him :D. Here's some pics of his masterpiece! (sorry for the no makeup thing, but at least u'll get the idea of my hair!! )

I've been reading other peoples blogs, keeping up with their lives, but haven't created a blog for us. So I'm finally joining in on the fun of blogging. I love being allowed to be nosy. I get on my brother sometimes for not updating his blog often enough. I guess I'll get to see how hard it is to keep up with this thing.
